Two Week Tilemaking Techniques Workshop

Handmade tiles are one of the elements that make the mosaics at PMG so special. PMG creator Isaiah Zagar has created thousands of tiles that include his own words and drawings. In this workshop with the PMG Education Team, participants will learn to:

• Make textured tiles by pressing lace doilies and rubber stamps into clay
• Create a “blob” with colorful grout and your own selection of 3D elements
• Paint glaze on readymade bisque-fired tiles

Staff will demonstrate different techniques found at PMG. Participants will try all techniques but have the flexibility to focus on the types of tiles they find most interesting. These tiles are beautiful on their own or can be incorporated into other mosaic projects.

• Tiles will need to be fired and can be picked up one week after the class ends.
