PECO Family Jams: Portraits and Picture Frames

Event Description

There are hundreds of portraits embedded in the mosaics that make up Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens. Some of them are easily found at first glance but others are much more subtle, revealed only in shimmering outlines of mirror or collections of like-colored tile. Isaiah Zagar, creator of PMG, often represents himself with four arms or wearing a distinctive bowler hat, but you will also find images of his wife, their sons, neighbors, friends, and pets, as well as figures from the art world and Isaiah’s own rich imagination.  We are celebrating these portraits today by taking a photograph of you which we will print while you decorate your frame with everything from markers to sequins.

PECO Family Jams are PMG’s one-of-a-kind, family-oriented programs, featured every second Sunday of the month between NOON and 4:00 PM. Visitors will receive a FREE photo and frame with admission while supplies last. No reservations are required for PECO Family Jams, but admission tickets should be purchased in advance here.
