Join artists Krista Dedrick-Lai and Margaux McAllister and they lead us through their joint exhibition, “Threads of Transformation.” Take a closer look at their paintings, textiles, and sculptures and learn how their work explores growth through womanhood and motherhood. Dedrick-Lai and McAllister will discuss their artistic processes, techniques, and inspirations, as well as how they depict human connections and transformations in their art. The tour will be followed by a Q&A with the artists.
About the Artists:
Krista Dedrick-Lai is a multidisciplinary Philadelphia-based artist whose work confronts the everyday struggles of motherhood, domesticity, and human connection. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Tyler School of Art and Architecture and her work is in the Philadelphia Museum of Art collection. She has had solo exhibitions in Philadelphia and Los Angeles.
Margaux McAllister is a multidisciplinary artist whose masks and paintings express emotional states that challenge and define our identities. She received her Master of Fine Arts from the San Francisco Art Institute and her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Moore College of Art and Design. She resides in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania.
