Three Week Panel Mosaic Workshop

Good for: Artists of all abilities, Creating a large mosaic, Learning the Zagar Method for bigger projects

$210 per person, $175 per member

Location: Watkins Street Studio, 1002 Watkins Street, Philadelphia

In this three week workshop PMG’s Preservation Team will lead you in creating your own 24” x 16” mosaic panel using the Zagar Method of mosaicking.

• Week 1: Create a “blob” with colorful grout and glaze tiles to use in your mosaic
• Week 2: Learn to break tile and cut mirror, plan your design, and place tiles
• Week 3: Grout your mosaic and take your masterpiece home

Discover this freeing and versatile art form with staff that have trained with PMG creator Isaiah Zagar and are responsible for maintaining the mosaics at Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens.

All supplies are included. Participants should plan to take their mosaic home with them on the last day of class. Framing is available for a discounted rate at New Image Art & Framing, 601 S. 9th Street. More information will be provided in class.
