Spend a delightful evening at Twilight in the Gardens!
Guests are encouraged to BYOBBS (Bring Your Own Booze, Blanket, and Snacks) and picnic in our space! In our mosaicked courtyard guests can relax and enjoy a live musical performance by River Full of Fruit. Over at our art tables participants can learn about the art of macramé with Teaching Artist Brijette Zachary. Guests will create their own feather macramé keychain to take home!
Attendees also have the opportunity to learn more about Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens through casual self-guided tours of our mosaicked basement, and can view the new exhibition “Wildest Dreams: Works by Zeinab Diomande” in our galleries.
ABOUT THE MUSICIAN:
River Full of Fruit is a Chinese-American freak-folk ensemble led by Salina Kuo. Working closely with diverse collaborators, Kuo blends guzheng (zither, common in traditional Chinese music) with Carnatic music, American finger style, jazz, and neoclassical elements to create mesmerizing soundscapes centered around themes of love, shame, grief, and healing.
ABOUT THE TEACHING ARTIST:
Brijette Zachary is the founder of the jewelry company Paint the Town Bleu, located in Philadelphia. It started with handmade necklaces made from clothing while they were going through postpartum depression in 2016, then transformed to earrings in 2019. What began as a hobby turned into a passion, then blossomed into a career of crafting and creating custom items for customers.
