PECO Family Jams: Upcycled Pouches

Event Description

There are hundreds of pieces of folk art from Mexico included in Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens. Some folk artists follow traditions taught by their parents or grandparents. They use traditional materials, like clay and straw. Others invent brand new ways of using things thrown away by everyone else. Today’s craft is inspired by goods found in our favorite marketplaces in Mexico. We will use colorful snack bags, vinyl, and duct tape to make wallets you can take home.

PECO Family Jams are PMG’s family-oriented programs, held on the second Sunday of every month between noon and 4:00 pm. Crafts and basement tours are included with regular admission to PMG.
