PECO Family Jams: Philly Typewriter

Event Description

Is it possible to involve all senses while writing? Bryan Kravitz, founder of Philly Typewriter, thinks so. Typing on a vintage typewriter is physical. There are levers and buttons, clicks and clacks, sometimes even a bell. Philly Typewriter places typewriters all over the city so anyone can strike a key (or write a book, poem, or note).  Today we will explore different machines with co-owner Bill Rhoda and make crafts inspired by typewriters.  

Join free tours of our fully mosaicked basement at 12:30, 1:30, 2:30, and 3:30 pm to learn about the many words that appear in Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens.

PECO Family Jams are PMG’s family-oriented programs, held on the second Sunday of every month between noon and 4:00 pm. Crafts and basement tours are included with regular admission to PMG. Purchase your tickets in advance.
