PECO Family Jams: Clay Animals with George Rodriguez

Event Description

Clay can be manipulated, textured, colored, treated, and combined with other mediums to create a wide variety of objects. In our current exhibition In Unison: Ceramic Sculptures by George Rodriguez, Rodriguez explores those possibilities through intimate collaborations with 13 other artists. Today, Rodriguez will be demonstrating some of the techniques he uses to bring richness and beauty to this most elemental medium. Experiment with texture and stamps for decoration as you make a small clay animal head of your own to take home.

Join us for free tours of our fully mosaicked basement at 12:30, 1:30, 2:30, and 3:30 pm to learn more about the many clay sculptures that can be found at Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens. 

PECO Family Jams are PMG’s one-of-a-kind, family-oriented programs, featured every second Sunday of the month between noon and 4:00 pm. Crafts and basement tours are included with regular admission to PMG. Purchase your tickets in advance.
