It’s the final Twilight in the Gardens of the year!

Grab some friends and BYOB for a captivating evening at the Magic Gardens Museum! In our glittery courtyard enjoy a live performance by Mixed People! This new age funk band lead by Paulette Branson is guaranteed to get you dancing.

At the art tables join Teaching Artist Avery Demarest in creating “bug taxidermy!” As the year shifts from lively summer into serene autumn, we can embrace the natural world by capturing life and making it our own. In this workshop, participants will create their own faux mounted bug, using plastic bugs decorated to your heart’s content. Make this creature your own, and go home with a wall hanging that fits your decor or a new pet for your desk. Keep it silly or make it sleek; there is no prior experience needed to join!

Attendees can also enjoy self-guided tours of our rarely-seen mosaicked basement, and can view our exhibition, “Viviendo a través de la muerte: Obras de Ivette Chaires/Living Through Death: Works by Ivette Chaires” in our galleries.

ABOUT THE MUSICIAN:
Paulette Branson is a self-taught multi-instrumentalist, who founded the band, Mixed People. “Mixed People” is a funky, soul, fusion band with hints of rock and world music…or as they like to call it – new age funk. Versatile musicianship, raw lyrics, and full vocal harmonies create a genuine, mixed musical experience. The name, Mixed People, derived from colors that bloomed out the whole funk and nothing but the funk. It embraces the love of self and others regardless of our differences and celebrates the beauty in us all. Paulette’s music is progressive, and the energy and emotion behind her sound will get you dancing on your feet and singing along.

ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Avery Demarest is an interdisciplinary artist and instructor based out of South Jersey. Their work often involves illustration, collage, printmaking, and 3D techniques. A studio art major and summer camp art instructor, they highlight themes like mental health, gender, and more, while creating art that always has a story to go along with it.
