Celebrate the spring season with music and art at our first Twilight in the Gardens event of the year!

Bring a blanket, snacks, and drinks to picnic in our space and kick back to a live performance by Maya Simone! Maya’s smooth sounds will both sooth your soul and electrify your spirit. Backed by Christian Klinefelter, and a special guest, Maya hopes to bring a soulful, immersive sound experience to Twilight in the Gardens—where music, nature, and community meet.

At our art tables artist Linda Shen will be teaching you the art of agamographs! An agamograph is a type of kinetic art that changes images when you view it from different angles. You’ll be able to design your own 2 images and transform it into one 3-D piece. Show off your creativity by creating your own drawings, collages, or a mix of both as part of your optical illusion artwork!

You also have the chance to learn more about Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens through fun, casual self-guided tours of our mosaicked basement, and can check out “Entre Raíces y Alas: Obras de Santiago Galeas/ Between Roots and Wings: Works by Santiago Galeasin our galleries.

Tickets will be available starting May 8. Space is limited and we recommend purchasing ahead of time!

About the Performer:

Maya Simone’s voice feels like a warm cup of tea—gentle, grounding, and soul-stirring under an open sky. Her journey began in an unexpected place—on horseback—where singing became a way to find calm. Since then, she has cultivated her sound within Philadelphia’s music community, spending years performing at open mics and building a voice that is both powerful and deeply intimate.

Maya’s music is an experience—one that moves like nature itself, flowing through feeling, story, and sound. Her performances invite listeners to slow down, reflect, and reconnect, blending soulful vocals with an energy that is both electric and healing. Having collaborated with platforms such as TEDx and Netflix (via Issa Rae productions), and artists including Donn T and TT The Artist, Maya brings both depth and presence to every stage she steps on.

A lover of simple rituals—tea, laughter, and shared moments—she carries that same warmth into her performances, creating spaces rooted in connection and care.

About the Artist:

Linda is a self taught, multidisciplinary artist who loves paper crafting, drawing, and creating mixed media work. She is a teacher, art instructor, and an avid volunteer and has been volunteering at PMG since 2024. Linda draws inspiration from the world around her.

May Schedule:
