Bring drinks, snacks, and friends for a relaxing evening in our glittering mosaicked space! Guests will be treated to a live performance by Estratos in our mosaicked courtyard. Enjoy an otherworldly and eclectic performance that blends sounds from Irish rock, Native American and Latin American culture, and the NYC jazz and electronica scenes.

At our tables artist Lauren Trainer will be teaching you the art of quilling! An early form of upcycling, quilling with paper gained popularity in the 15th century among impoverished churches and monasteries. This craft involves rolling, shaping, and gluing narrow strips of paper to create intricate, decorative designs. Described as “meditation with paper,” its repetitive, rhythmic motions and tactile focus anchor the mind in the present moment, offering a way to quiet racing thoughts and ease anxiety. Choose from a variety of colored paper strips, strips cut from book pages, cardstock, and cardboard panels to create a three-dimensional piece or greeting card that stands out! Feel free to intentionally create in-the-moment or bring your idea to life. 

Attendees can also enjoy self-guided tours of our rarely-seen mosaicked basement, and can be view our latest exhibition, “Entre Raices y Alas/ Between Roots and Wings: Works by Santiago Galeas.”

ABOUT THE MUSICIAN:
Drummer and composer Diego Joaquin Ramirez brings his sonically adventurous 4-piece band ‘Estratos’ to Twilight in the Gardens, sharing the stage with his brother Sanche Ramirez on guitar and modular synth, Jon L. Smith on bass, and Andrew Freedman on keyboards. 

Estratos draws inspiration from the sounds & sights of Diego’s childhood in Cork, Ireland, as well as from his family’s deep ties to Native American and Latin American culture. Influences from traditional Native American percussion, the 2000s math rock scene in Ireland, and the jazz and ambient electronica scene of Diego’s current home in NYC are woven through the fabric of this latest project, resulting in a body of work that’s both
deeply personal and brightly inventive. Diego has become a go-to collaborator both in and outside the Jazz world, performing with artists like Carrtoons, Kiefer, Melanie Charles, Braxton Cook, Wayne Tucker, Marc Cary, and Circuit Kisser, at venues and platforms such as NPR Tiny Desk, The Metropolitan Museum, The Blue Note, and Newport Jazz Festival.

ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Lauren (she/they) is a Philly-born, queer, neurospicy multidisciplinary artist whose works have been exhibited at the Da Vinci Art Alliance. She has enjoyed mentoring and teaching Philadelphia youth through Mighty Writers, the CAPS program, Fleisher Art Memorial, and PlayArts Philly. Lauren values fostering inclusive environments and is starting her Master’s in Art Therapy and Counseling. She aims to continue working in her community to offer person-centered, trauma-informed, and neurodivergent-affirming care by holding space for mindfulness, creativity, and self expression through visual arts, movement, and connection to nature.
