Starting Friday, November 9, Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens will brighten up the winter season by exhibiting colorful mosaics by Isaiah Zagar.

For over five decades, Zagar has been using mosaic to document the faces, names, objects, fantasies, and moments from his daily life in Philadelphia. Unlike his permanent wall or site-specific installations, these framed and paneled pieces are created so visitors can take a small piece of South Street home with them. Whether adding to your art collection or investing in your first piece of art, each mosaic is a one-of-a-kind masterpiece, perfect for any wall in your home, office, or any space needing a little Philadelphia flare!

A short documentary about the artists’ life will also accompany this exhibition, which focuses on the beginning of his mosaic career, the development of his artistic process, and the conception of Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens. The film on display provides a look into Zagar’s colorful and spontaneous spirit and is nestled in PMG’s cozy back gallery, a space to warm up and enjoy after exploring the outdoor labyrinth.
