Visionary Visits provides discounted and free guided tours of PMG for groups with a financial need. Special preference is given to Philadelphia public and charter schools, but all schools and organizations are welcome to apply.
The program educates youth and adults of all ages about Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens and its creator Isaiah Zagar. Tour themes can include mosaics, art as therapy, Mexican folk art, art environments, the impact of art on a neighborhood, and more. See different tour options here. Hands-on artmaking activities may also be added for a discounted fee of $1 per person.
Tours are scheduled on weekdays (except Tuesdays) and limited to 45 participants, including chaperones. Larger groups may be accommodated over multiple visits or with special permission.
A limited number of transportation grants are available to Philadelphia public and charter schools. To be eligible for these grants applicants must:
- Check the box requesting transportation funding in their online application
- Apply by the following deadlines:
- For tours happening October-January apply by September 30
- For tours happening February-June apply by January 31
