Virtual Event: PECO Family Jams – Found Object Wind Chimes

Sunday, September 13th 2020

12:00 PM - 4:00 PM

This month we are celebrating our exhibition Warren Muller: On and Off the Wall. Like PMG creator Isaiah Zagar, Warren Muller is inspired by the irreverent sense of humor of the Dada movement and Marcel Duchamp’s ground-breaking use of found objects, or “ready-mades.” We will use pieces of CDs, sunglass lenses, beads, bottle lids, and other every-day objects to create brightly colored wind chimes and wall hangings.
To find all the objects for this project, we partnered with The Resource Exchange, the only salvaged and surplus materials organization in Philadelphia dedicated to serving the creative community. On September 13, visitors will receive a free Craft Kit, including pre-drilled materials and instructions, to create an original piece of art.
If you’re not able to join us at PMG, click on the links below for an instructional video that lets you craft along at home. Then join us for a virtual look at Warren Muller’s exhibition of “luminaries,” which will continue to light up our galleries until November 8.

PECO Family Jams are PMG’s one-of-a-kind, family-oriented programs, featured every second Sunday of the month between NOON and 4:00 PM. Craft Kits are free with admission while supplies last. No reservations are required.
