Event Description

Enjoy an amazing virtual concert! This event is a collaboration with local musicians and benefits Morris Home, which supports trans and gender-nonconforming individuals.

The concert, filmed at Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens, features dynamic performances by Tubey Frank, ThebandIvory, and Eleanor Two. It’s free to view with donations accepted to support both the bands and Morris Home. Click the link above to view!

Tubey Frank is the alter-ego of songwriter Joshua Kirwin. Through TF, Josh shines a light into his manic mind. Honest, tongue-in-cheek lyrics are accompanied by expressive instrumentation and lush layers of guitar. A Philadelphia-area musician of fifteen years, Josh has always played with the mission of “making something simple a little smarter.” Tubey Frank features guitarist Andrew Kirwin and a rotation of other talented local musicians.

ThebandIvory is the collaborative project of singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and visual artist Frankie DeRosa and musician and producer Robbie Simmons. DeRosa’s time as an orchestral musician is reflected in lush orchestration, while his study of eastern music is clearly heard in his unique instrumental and vocal performances. Simmons’s vision as a producer takes the songs from the highest points of wall-of-sound to minimal and restrained, his rhythm section the foundation of their arrangements.

Eleanor Two is the solo project of Philadelphia-based musician Lauren Hawkins. Heavily influenced by indie auteurs such as Neko Case, Cocteau Twins and Land of Talk, and taking cues from jazz, country and mid-20th century pop, her guitar-driven songs immerse listeners in alternate states of mind or usher them into the minds of various characters, often with a humorous touch.

Since making her debut in the West Philadelphia music scene in 2018, including a set at Porchfest, Eleanor Two has played shows at Vox Populi and Imperfect Gallery among other local arts spaces. She was recently featured in the Ladybug Music Festival, hosted online for the first time in June 2020. She has a number of demos available on Bandcamp and her first official single will be released in Fall 2020 on all major platforms. You can follow her on Instagram at @eleanor_i_i.

Morris Home supports trans- and gender-nonconforming individuals as they develop the knowledge, skills and supports necessary to promote sobriety, manage emotional and behavioral difficulties, choose and maintain safe and healthy lifestyles, and develop healthy relationships with peers, family and the community. Morris Home, the only residential recovery program in the country to offer comprehensive services specifically for the transgender community, provides a safe, recovery-oriented environment in which people are treated with respect and dignity.
