September Twilight in the Gardens

Friday, September 23rd 2016

7:00 PM - 10:00 PM

$15/Students and Seniors

On Friday, September 23, from 7:00 – 10:00 PM PMG’s Twilight in the Gardens series will be invaded by time-traveling androids from outer space!

Performer S.T.A.R.W.O.O.D., led by the “archangel” Gabriel Starwood, will fill the gardens with their cyber rock and alien propaganda.  S.T.A.R.W.O.O.D. mixes spooky effects with Gabriel’s surprisingly operatic vocals to create a mix that all beings can dance to. The performers will be decked out in the traditional garb of the Vitruvian robot warriors – armor made of mirrors and terrifyingly awesome masks.

Confused? Don’t worry, they’ll tell you all about where they come from and the time-traveling mission that led them to earth!

Afraid? Not to fear! Make sure to stop by the art station with Teaching Artist Amanda Stoner to make custom fit tin-foil masks to dazzle your friends, and blend in with our fearful interstellar pals.

Come hang out picnic-style and enjoy this celestial experience on your cozy blanket with snacks, or just bring a 6-pack and explore!

Don’t forget about our regular Twilight offerings as well: hear more about our visionary art environment with special tours of the seldom-seen mosaicked basement, and show off your photo skills with our Instagram contest. Don’t forget to BYOBBS (Bring Your Own Booze, Blanket, and Snacks)!

Tickets go on sale two weeks before each Twilight event on our website or by phone (215) 733-0390.

PERFORMER S.T.A.R.W.O.O.D. is led by Gabriel Starwood and created by the Vitruvians as “a man-machine and master manipulator” capable of entering and controlling the Human body. Accompanied by a small, yet crucial team of Vitruvian Androids, the Propaganda Performance module of the S.T.A.R.W.O.O.D. mission has taken form as a “Cyber Rock” quintet. Raising the awareness of mankind for the sake of the cosmos, a typical S.T.A.R.W.O.O.D. performance centers on the values of the Vitruvian species, their eventual destruction at the hands of the expansionist hordes, and the S.T.A.R.W.O.O.D. prototype’s mass manipulation of the Human race.
