Join Ashanté Kindle and Khari Turner as they discuss the influences of Black culture and generational lineage in their dynamic paintings in We’re on the Move, an exhibition in the galleries at Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens.

During this Tour & Talk, Kindle and Turner will explore topics of play and freedom in the Black community through their experimental paintings. Participants will have the opportunity to ask Kindle and Turner questions during a Q&A at the end of the tour.

Ashanté Kindle and Khari Turner both graduated from Austin Peay State University and were a part of the 2019 cohort at the Chautauqua School of Art Residency. Turner then earned an MFA from Columbia University and has shown work internationally and nationally. He recently participated in the 2022 Venice Biennale and his first solo show at the Museum of Wisconsin Art. Turner is currently working in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Kindle is an M.F.A. graduate from the University of Connecticut who has exhibited her work with several galleries and institutions. She has recently shown at The University of Connecticut, the Red Arrow Gallery in Tennessee, and at EXPO Chicago with Latchkey Gallery. Kindle currently lives and works in Hartford, CT. Both Turner and Kindle share their connections between Black history and modern day Black Culture through workshops and artist talks around the country.
