12:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Mask-making has been an evolving tradition in Mexico for thousands of years, from traditional dances to Carnival celebrations to contemporary luche libre wrestling. Depictions of masks can be found throughout Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens, and within in the folk art so admired by PMG-creator Isaiah Zagar. Join one of our favorite teaching artists, Mexico City-native Nora Litz, in creating a personal mask that might be worn or displayed as art.
Learn more about Isaiah’s work and his connection to Mexican folk art on a family-friendly tour at 1:00, 2:30, or 3:30 PM.
PECO Family Jams are PMG’s one-of-a-kind, family-oriented programs, featured every second Sunday of the month between NOON and 4:00 PM. All PECO Family Jams workshops and activities are FREE with admission.
