PECO Family Jams: Light-Up Sculptures

Sunday, March 8th 2020

12:00 PM - 4:00 PM

FREE with Admission

Philadelphia artist Warren Muller creates colorful illuminated sculptures out of unexpected objects like bicycle parts, taillights, bedsprings, glass, and old chandelier crystals. Muller has been close friends with Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens’ creator Isaiah Zagar for over 50 years, and they continue to inspire each other with their use of found and salvaged materials. In celebration of our art exhibition Warren Muller: On and Off the Wall, guest teaching artist Brittany Walker will help us construct small artful lights out of bottle lids, wire scraps, colored tissue, and LEDs that you can take home.

Join us for family-friendly tours at 1:00, 2:30 and 3:30 PM and find out where Isaiah permanently installed pieces of Muller’s work in our art environment.

PECO Family Jams are PMG’s one-of-a-kind, family-oriented programs, featured every second Sunday of the month between NOON and 4:00 PM. All PECO Family Jams workshops and activities are FREE with admission and no reservations are required, but visitors must still purchase museum admission tickets. Tickets are timed and often sell out. Purchase your tickets online here.
