PECO Family Jams: Cardboard City

Sunday, February 10th 2019

12:00 PM - 4:00 PM

In Matt de la Peña’s Last Stop on Market Street, the children’s selection for the Free Library’s One Book, One Philadelphia, CJ learns from his Nana to see beauty in everyday urban moments. Isaiah Zagar, creator of Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens, uses salvaged materials to create such moments throughout the city. Join us as we read the story, then use cardboard, markers, and paper fasteners to create movable characters, creatures, buses, buildings, animals, and friends to take home.

We will be reading Last Stop on Market Street at 12:30 and 2:30 p.m. Family-friendly tours will be held at 1:00 and 3:30 PM to learn more about PMG and its creator Isaiah Zagar.

PECO Family Jams are PMG’s one-of-a-kind, family-oriented programs, featured every second Sunday of the month between NOON and 4:00 PM. All PECO Family Jams workshops and activities are FREE with admission.
