Tickets will be available starting June 10!

Spend an evening in our enchanted mosaicked space with Twilight in the Gardens!

Guests are encouraged to bring a blanket, snacks, and drinks to picnic outside. There will be a lively musical performance by The Rob Curto Trio in our courtyard, and at our craft tables The Clay Studio will be teaching how to create sgraffito tiles!

Visitors also have the chance to learn more about PMG through fun, casual self-guided tours of our mosaicked basement, and can check out When the Cracks Deepen: Works by Isaac Scott in our galleries.

Space is limited and we strongly recommend purchasing your tickets ahead of time. Proof of vaccination is required to attend this event.

Composer and accordion master Rob Curto serves up a performance of toe-tapping tunes, roots-influenced traditional covers, and rhythmically driving originals that cause audiences to say, “I had no idea the accordion could sound like that!”

Rob is a musician with a reputation for dizzying skill and deft mastery of the accordion across musical and geographical boundaries. Mixing the roots Americana stylings of the great Bill Monroe with rhythmic and melodic elements from Brazil, Curto has been part of a movement to establish the accordion as a versatile and important instrument in contemporary roots music. He is a founding member of the “Brazilian Bluegrass” band Matuto, who have toured extensively across North America, Africa, Asia, and Europe.

In addition to the Brazilian music for which he has become well known, Curto has gained a reputation as an all-around master of the accordion and has been in high demand across genres. His musical collaborations include performing and recording with Latin Grammy award winner Lila Downs; Klezmer clarinetist David Krakauer; trumpeter/composer Frank London; Punjabi Indian singer Kiran Ahluwalia; and icon of Brazilian Forró, the great accordionist Dominguinhos. Rob has also developed an interest in Irish button box, adding B/C button accordion to his repertoire. He studies with NEA National Heritage Fellow and multi-All Ireland Champion, Billy McComiskey (and now requires a minimum of two accordions!).

Our Teaching Artist for this Twilight event is The Clay Studio. The Clay Studio inspires curiosity and discovery around the art and craft of clay, drawing together students, artists, and an engaged public into a welcoming community. Every day, in their classrooms, studios, galleries, and neighborhoods, they deepen the connection between people and clay with the highest quality programs and exhibitions. Founded in 1974, The Clay Studio continues in the belief that shared creativity, so fundamental to humanity, is a critical force for good.
