About Philadelphia's Magic Gardens

Philadelphia's Magic Gardens is a 501(c)(3) corporation formed by artists and community members to promote and preserve the Art and legacy of Philadelphia Mosaic Mural Artist Isaiah Zagar.

The Gardens cover half a bustling South Street block with myriads of tile, textures, and color. Zagar created the Magic Gardens in a vacant lot that has since become one of Philadelphia's major tourist attractions. By renovating derelict row-houses and building colorful mosaics on dozens of public walls, Zagar has helped spur the renaissance of South Street from the 1960s until today. Philadelphia's Magic Gardens is open to visitors daily, and is quickly becoming a prime artistic venue in Philadelphia, with concerts, dance performances, and art openings occurring within the tiled walls year-round.
