March 2009
Dear Friends
Philadelphia's Magic Gardens is celebrating the end of the cold months and looking forward to warmer weather! We've hosted several fun events recently and are thrilled about the increasing awareness of Jeremiah Zagar's film, In A Dream. Read on to learn upcoming workshops, concerts, and more.
Mosaic Mural Workshop with Isaiah Zagar - March 28 and 29
Join Isaiah for his first workshop of 2009 at local South Philly café, Black N Brew. Located at 1523 E Passyunk Avenue, students will help Isaiah create a coffee and conversation-themed mural. Known for its great coffee and tea, Black N Brew also boasts a full breakfast and dinner menu, a cozy atmosphere, and rotating artwork. Help transform the current façade of the café into a breathtaking work of mosaic art.
Sign up to participate in this 2-day workshop, or just stop by on March 28th or 29th to watch the Zagar process of creating a beautiful mosaic. For more information about workshops and future dates, visit our website.
Music in the Gardens
Despite the cold weather, the Magic Gardens has enjoyed all sorts of artistic energy this winter. In January, The Weeds performed here to raise funds to support their new album. A few weeks later, Polish band Let Me Introduce You To the End presented a music and multimedia experience in the basement of the Gardens. We are hoping to start a monthly concert series at the Gardens, with our next event coming up in just a few weeks.
