Explore the fully mosaicked gallery space and labyrinth sculpture garden at your own leisure. Visitors can spend as little as 20 minutes or stay for hours, viewing the thousands of diverse tiles, intricate sculptures, and varied texts embedded in the walls. Garden Guide interpreters are available to give brief introductions to Philadelphia's Magic Gardens and answer questions. The self-guided experience is available during all PMG hours, Sun - Thurs, 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM; Fri - Sat, 11:00 AM - 8:00 PM.

*Groups of 10 or more pre-K children are $2 per student.
Self-guided groups of more than 20 people
must reserve in advance by emailing education@phillymagicgardens.org or by calling 215-733-0390. Groups without a reservation may not be admitted.

PMG SITE TOURS
November through March


Get an insiders' view of the Magic Gardens. These guided interpretive tours take visitors through the Magic Gardens' main site and nearby mosaicked properties. Topics include Zagar's mosaic techniques and influences, the materials used in the mosaics (with a particular focus on tiles and global folk art), the narratives behind his iconography and images, and the history of South Street and Philadelphia's Magic Gardens. Tours last approximately one hour.

NEIGHBORHOOD WALKING TOURS
April through October

Take an hour walk into the alleyways along South Street to view Isaiah Zagar's glittering creations! Led by a trained Philadelphia's Magic Gardens interpreter, you'll learn detailed information about Zagar's technique along with the personal and community stories depicted in his large, shimmering murals. Walking tour price includes admission to PMG.

Join a Tour
Drop in or reserve your spot for a scheduled public tour on Saturdays and Sundays at NOON and 4:00 PM. Please call 215-733-0390 to make reservations for a weekend tour or email education@phillymagicgardens.org. Guests with reservations must arrive at least 15 minutes early to check-in and guarantee their spots.

Special tours are also held on many public holidays at 2:00 PM. Check our calendar for more information. Tours will be held on the following upcoming dates:

Mosaic Musings

Join us for Mosaic Musings! These informal 10-15 minute conversations led by our trained staff tell the stories behind some of our most asked about objects and ideas. Topics include personal stories about PMG creator Isaiah Zagar, his artistic influences, the origins of different tiles, and much more.

Mosaic Musings are FREE with admission and held at the following times in the outdoor Sculpture Garden:

Fridays at 2:00PM and 4:00PM
Saturdays-Thursdays at 2:00PM

Come visit PMG for a special tour catered for couples, complete with complimentary wine and lit by romantic candlelight!

Guests will learn about the love story between founding artist Isaiah Zagar and his wife Julia, and explore our glittering labyrinth to discover the many symbols of love (and sex!) hidden around the gardens. Couples will also get to view our galleries and special mosaicked basement, which is not open to the general public!

Tours are approximately an hour long. Tickets include wine. Must be 21 or older to attend. Reservations are required. Please call 215-733-0390 or email education@phillymagicgardens.org to make a reservation.
