Isaiah travels to many different parts of the city, country, and world to make mosaics. If you're interested in bringing Isaiah Zagar to your city to build a mosaic or to lead a mosaic workshop, please download our information sheet. Traveling workshops usually take place over the course of a week, and can involve an entire community in building an original mosaic mural. Here are a few of his projects.

Convention Center – Phoenix, Arizona
2006-2008
Isaiah was one of twelve artists chosen for the Phoenix Convention Center Expansion Public Art Program. His three mosaics adorn one of the building’s entrances, the largest filling over 300 square feet with Isaiah’s colorful grout and playful tiles. The pieces compliment the natural landscape of Arizona by depicting desert animals, cacti, and petroglyph-inspired images. Over two years in the making, this project reached its completion in December 2008 with the Grand Opening of the Convention Center.

Create Uptown Racine – Wisconsin

2008

Over the past decade, Racine, Wisconsin has been reinventing itself as a center for artists and community in the gritty Midwest. Upon the invitation of Racine Mayor Gary Becker, Isaiah flew to Racine to share his skills and empower local artists. Together, they built two towering murals just blocks from the edge of Lake Michigan. The mosaics, one 200’ x 12’ and the other, 100’ x 6’, present enormous tiled faces and a mermaid bedazzled by mirror.

Isaiah is also available to create a mosaic on or in your house. Rates vary by scale and distance from the studio, so email info@philadelphiasmagicgardens.org for more information
